I'm a dad 2.5 hours away with a college student in Hartford. My son had some major issues come up with his car and Bill's gave a thorough and fair assessment of his vehicle. They went out of their way to help out a starving student and put my mind at ease that he has a reliable mechanic while he's at school. Much appreciated.

Brought in car for inspection and evaluation (was older relative's) before spending any $ Very thorough report. And honest feedback from Joe. We're still deciding if car is worth the cost of repairs. If we do repair car, Bill's will be doing it and I'll be back with another review.

Joe and his guys took great care of my Subaru and got the work done professionally and timely! Will definitely be back! It’s not easy going into a mechanic shop as a woman with no knowledge on vehicles, but I felt comfortable and am able to trust these guys! Thank you again!

The mechanics at Bill's are honest and transparent. Each time I've had to bring a car in, they explain everything and don't mind if I ask questions. They are kind and have fair pricing. The last time I brought my car, the mechanic tried so hard to get my warranty to cover the repairs. Ultimately, it didn't work, but the fact he tried means so much. I've had to bring my car to Bill's quite a few times at this point, and I will not bring it anywhere else. Great service!!! Also, Duke and Gus are the cutest doggos and I would bring my car back just to see them.

Had steady engine light on. They diagnos it with in minutes. Was easily resolved. Was not charge. They did not try to up sell me anything or make up fake problem. Will definitely come back again for future repairs.

So, I got stuck/stranded on a very busy street leaving my daughter's college after a ceremony she was being recognized for and heading back to New York. It was a very stressful situation. I googled auto shops because I am not from Connecticut. I came across Bill's Automotive and saw it had excellent reviews! I called and a Friendly voice was on the receiving end. I later found out that voice belonged to "Andy". He was very helpful and said that he would try his best to get me back on the road today!🙏🏽 After, I called AAA and the driver, I believe his name was Trey, was also excellent and gave me a tour (verbally)as we drove through downtown Hartford to Bill's. My son and I were happily greeted by Andy! He got my truck in right away! Turns out my belt broke and my tension was bad! Parts came quickly and before You knew it.. I was back on the road heading home! I am Beyond Grateful to Bill's Automotive and I Thank You from the bottom of my heart for providing such diligence! friendly, affordable and swift service!! Hope you get that Trip to Jamaica Andy, You deserve it!! From a traveler from New York!!☺️

Went there to get my wheel hub assembly done. I already had the part. This was the only shop that I called who would do that for me with my part. The price was extremely good, and the mechanic who helped me was really straight up, up-front, and had good customer service skills. The owner/manager is a really cool guy as well and I was impressed by how much he cares about the local community and regular working people while I was chatting with him when I went to pick up my car. They even finished the repair the same day, when originally I had been expecting to have to wait at least 24 hours, and for almost $20 less than the original price they quoted me. I've never had that happen before. All told, I just cannot recommend this place enough. A real gem of a local business that 100% deserves your attention and support, and which will give you the personally invested and caring service you can only get at the most well-run and dedicated small businesses. UPDATE: Just went in (September 2025) and got a strut done on an entirely different car. Just as great as the last repair I had done, and came in early and cheaper than originally quoted again. I could not be more pleased.

My husband and I have been bringing our 2008 Audi to Bills for over a year now and we will never go to another mechanic. The staff has been great. Joe and Andy have really worked with us over time given the challenges we have faced with having such an older car. Between pricing, fast and efficient work, and overall attitude and understanding, our experience has been wonderful and we feel so blessed to have found such a professional and well skilled mechanic, and only 10 mins from home. 10/10 recommend bringing your vehicle to Bills for any mechanical work.

I’ve been bringing my 1998 BMW Z3 to Bill’s. My experience has been great. Andy and his team have been professional, competent and fair. I am not a mechanic, but do a lot of my own car work. Happy I found a BMW shop I can trust with my car.
